Charli XCX has officially released her new single “Camera”, accompanied by its official music video, as she continues the rollout for her upcoming album, Music, Fashion, Film.
The song arrives as the latest preview of the record ahead of its scheduled release later this week, following previously released tracks including “Rock Music,” “SS26,” and “Wink Wink.”
“Camera” takes a more restrained approach than the club-driven sound that defined much of Brat. Built around guitar-led production and subtle electronic textures, the track finds Charli delivering introspective lyrics that explore self-reflection and the challenges of balancing her growing interests in both music and film.
Released alongside the single is a cinematic music video directed by Charli’s longtime collaborator Aidan Zamiri. The visual stars French actor Vincent Cassel, who plays the lead role on a chaotic film set following a dramatic car crash scene. Throughout the video, Cassel repeatedly attempts to complete a take as technical mishaps and on-set interruptions derail the production. Charli appears intermittently as the film’s director, overseeing the action from behind the camera.
The video is presented as a continuous single-shot sequence, further emphasizing its cinematic concept and reinforcing the visual themes that have defined the Music, Fashion, Film era. Zamiri previously directed Charli’s video for “The Moment,” continuing a creative partnership that has shaped much of her recent visual output.
At the time of publication, Charli XCX has not announced any additional versions of “Camera,” nor has she confirmed separate production credits beyond those that will accompany the full album release. The single is now available across major streaming platforms, while the official music video is streaming on YouTube.
